zwaan kleef aan nieuwe vide marissa evers

Under the title of ‘Zwaan Kleef Aan’ (the Duch title of The Golden Goose fairytale by the Grimm brothers) and parallel to it’s regular 2011 exhibition programme, Nieuwe Vide has through the last year slowly transformed its neutral white cube into a ‘coloured’ exhibition space. Whilst creating a new exhibition the already present wall drawings had to be taken into consideration and the new pieces had to be integrated with the already existing.

Through this, the different arts were inevitable interconnected with each other, pieces that had no clear or previous essential correlation, enter a dialogue with each other. Wall art that was applied in the beginning of the year became part of the exhibitions held through the year which meant a continuous perspective shift. Within each new exhibition these pieces on the wall got a new meaning or a different light shedon them.

After functioning within the context of the exhibtion programme of 2011, Nieuwe Vide would like to present these pieces wall art in their own right. After filling the last of the ‘white spots’ on the wall with drawings early December, the ‘Zwaan Kleef Aan’ wall drawings are ready to be admired, both as an installation as individually.
